Biography

Jessica Ochalek joined the Team for Economic Evaluation and Health Technology Assessment (TEEHTA) in the Centre for Health Economics since 2014.  She holds a PhD on "Accounting for health opportunity costs in key decisions in healthcare resource allocation in low- and middle-income countries" awarded by the University of York, an MSc in Health Economics from the University of York, a Master of Public Health degree from Boston University and a BA in Global Studies from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee.  Jessica is interested in the application of the principles and methods of economic evaluation to inform healthcare decision-making in low- and middle-income countries particularly, as this is where healthcare resources are most constrained and the potential health gains per additional resource spent on healthcare are greatest.
